ClearCab Equipment Glass replaces more excavator glass than any other machine type, because excavators lead the league in broken panes: thrown rock off the bucket, a limb across the upper windshield during clearing, a swing into something the spotter never called. The repair is mobile, the machine stays on the job, and the price comes off the published table.
Flat pane or curved windshield decides everything
Every excavator glass call starts with one question: is the broken pane flat or curved? Doors, side panes, rear glass, lower fronts and the upper fronts on most older machines are flat. Flat panes we cut to the pattern at your site from laminated or tempered stock, $400 to $800 installed, usually same day. Newer machines, particularly Cat, Komatsu and Volvo, run curved one-piece front windshields. Those only exist as OEM parts, ordered by serial number, $750 to $1,500 installed, two to four days for freight.
What a jobsite install looks like
The machine parks on level ground with the boom down and stays shut off. Broken glass comes out and gets vacuumed off the floor and out of the channel, because glass chips under the foot pedals are how the next pane cracks. New glass is set in fresh rubber or bonded with urethane depending on the frame design, slide rails get adjusted if the upper front moves, and the operator is back in the seat in one to three hours. Work continues around the machine the whole time.

My excavator front windshield is curved. Can you still do it mobile?
Yes. Curved windshields are OEM parts we order by your machine serial number, usually landing in two to four days. The install itself happens at your site the day the glass arrives, $750 to $1,500 all in.
The upper front slides and the lower pane is fixed. Do you handle the rails?
Yes. Slide rails, latches and the channel felt are part of an upper windshield job. If the rails are bent or the felt is gone we tell you before we start, because glass set in bad rails breaks again.
Can a mini excavator door pane be done same day?
Usually. Mini ex door and side panes are flat glass, and flat glass we cut to pattern at the machine from stock on the truck. Call before noon and there is a good chance it is done before dark.
What about the roof hatch glass?
We replace glazed roof hatches and can substitute polycarbonate for machines working under grapples or trees, where the next hit is a matter of when.
